Reclaim Your Power: A Workshop for Adult Daughters of Difficult Mothers

Mother’s Day can bring lots of complicated emotions. You don’t have to navigate them alone.

The mother-daughter relationship can be complicated, and it can be even more complicated when that relationship involves a mother who is difficult to talk to and be around, such as an emotionally immature mother or a mother struggling with her mental health.

I was inspired to create this workshop after seeing a colleague’s workshop for women grieving the loss of their deceased mother.

For those who have a difficult relationship with their mother, there’s a different kind of grief. Grieving someone who is still alive but hasn’t been the presence in your life that you wanted, needed, or hoped for.

Understandably, Mother’s Day can bring up these feelings of grief, along with a wide range of other complicated thoughts and emotions.

My hope for this workshop is for you to know that you’re not alone. There are others out there having similar experiences and who have been affected similarly by those experiences.

This workshop will be a safe space for you to connect with others, feel less alone, and learn some skills to help empower and guide you as you continue forward on the journey of navigating life as an adult daughter of a difficult mother.

This workshop is for you if you:

  • Have a mother who is emotionally immature, narcissistic, or otherwise a difficult person to talk to/be around

  • Experience difficult or complicated emotions around Mother’s Day

  • Are open to and could benefit from the support of others who understand

  • Want to learn more about self-compassion, reparenting yourself, and other empowerment strategies to enhance your healing and growth

Winter Wellness Group

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year? Not Always.

Connect with others for support, validation, and resources during this wonderful, yet difficult time of year.

Do the winter months leave you feeling new or increased stress, depressed mood, anxiety, or grief?

Winter can be wonderful, and it can also be a difficult time for many different reasons.

Maybe the decrease in hours of daylight is negatively affect your sleep schedules and your mood.

Or maybe the shorter days and cooler weather makes you more likely to spend time inside, isolated from other people, and feeling lonely.

Oh, and let’s not forget the holidays!

Although the holidays have just passed, you might be feeling drained from too much time with difficult family members or maybe lonely due to not having many family or friends to connect with.

And this year may be especially challenging.

Due to the pandemic limitations, there will likely be less indoor social activities to engage in and you may not be able to spend time with family and friends like you usually do.

If you don’t feel this is the “most wonderful time of the year,” you are not alone. This group will connect you to others who can relate to your experience.

If you’re looking for a way to feel more connected, engage in self-care, and explore coping strategies that work, then this group may be for you!
